Salary: £13.20 per hour

Would you like the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of the veteran community? We now have a number of exciting opportunities for a Bank Welfare Officer to join our team to support the veteran community of Herefordshire.

Over the past 70 plus years, DMWS has expanded the groups it helps to include veterans, frontline staff, those who serve in the Merchant Navy, police officers and NHS staff. The help is given in a range of circumstances including when they are receiving hospital care, help is formed of both practical and emotional support.

The responsibilities will be the welfare and effective management of referrals as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will be required to correctly assess the welfare needs of service users with unfaltering professionalism and sensitivity.

You will be a creative individual with the ability to coordinate and deliver a number of services to the veteran community of Herefordshire.

The role will consist of an average of 8hrs a week, mainly taking place in the evening with a particular focus on our Walking Football group which meet on Wednesday nights.

Additional hours may be available to support other projects within DMWS with a possibility that unsociable hours and on-call rotas may be a part of your work. Experience in health and social or welfare services is essential.
