Contract: Permanent, Full-time, 35 hours per week
Salary: £25,556.00 per annum

Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of the military community? Are you a confident, self-starter with welfare experience? We are looking for someone with strong people skills, who can work independently and as part of a large team, to join DMWS in Southampton at the Southampton General Hospital. We are looking for someone with great interpersonal skills, compassion and the ability to handle complex cases. As part of this role, you will be supporting both veterans and serving personnel, and their families (inpatients and outpatients) at Southampton General Hospital.The main responsibilities include the welfare and effective management of referrals as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Attending multi-disciplinary meetings and carrying out joint, and lone visits to patients, and liaising with other agencies within the hospital and community to ensure the best outcome for patients and families. You will be required to correctly assess the welfare needs of service users with unfaltering professionalism and sensitivity. You will need to be able to provide a rapid, solution-driven personal response to support in times of need, or in crisis situations.
