Contract: 1-Year Fixed-Term – 35 hours weekly
Salary: £22,279.00

Do you want to make a real difference to lives of people in the military community and their families? Are you a confident, self-starter with family and carers welfare experience? Defence Medical Welfare Service (DMWS) is now recruiting a Welfare Support Worker based in NHS Lanarkshire, to support the wider military community (both veteran and serving). Your initial location will be University Hospital Wishaw (a district general hospital in Wishaw), North Lanarkshire, situated between the areas of Craigneuk to the north and Netherton to the south. The hospital managed by NHS Lanarkshire is 11 miles from Glasgow, which lies to the north-west of Wishaw.

We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills, able to work as part of a team both internally and externally, is compassionate and passionate about supporting the Armed Forces Community. Working as part of a team you will be supporting the military and their family’s community both in hospital or in the community (inpatient and outpatient) . You will be required to be mobile and be willing to work flexibly to meet job demands.
