Lockheed Martin supports RAF Association’s Research Symposium

The RAF Association announced today that global defence technology company Lockheed Martin will sponsor its Annual Research Symposium.

At the event, which will take place at the Victory Services Club in London in December, the Association will share the findings from its landmark 2024 research study, Understanding the Characteristics of the RAF Community, which received over 13,000 responses from serving personnel, veterans and their descendants.

In addition to the Association’s own findings, the Symposium will also feature keynote speeches and presentations by academic partners and other sector experts.

Janelle Spintig, Business Development Manager for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in the UK, said:

“Supporting veterans, serving personnel and their families across all the UK Armed Forces lies at the heart of our approach to military charity engagement. Sponsoring the RAF Association’s Annual Research Symposium means its important research about the RAF Community can be more broadly shared to help better the lives of the RAF’s most important asset – the people who serve, have served and their families who support their service.”

Rory O’Connor, Charity Director at the RAF Association, said:

“We are thrilled to have the support of Lockheed Martin for our Research Symposium. Research is a vital part of the Association’s work to ensure we continue to provide evidence-based, impactful support for the RAF community. In addition, by sharing our findings, we can collaborate with organisations to better support veterans and serving personnel and their families in all areas of society.”

Lockheed Martin’s support of the Research Symposium was announced during DSEI, a defence and security trade exhibition held at the ExCel in London.

The Association attended DSEI as part of a four-charity coalition alongside SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and The Army Benevolent Fund, profiling services that support the integrated defence and security workforce.
