We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Immigration Adviser to provide specialist immigration guidance to Royal Navy and Royal Marines personnel and their families. Working within IAA Level 1 accreditation, you will support individuals through complex Armed Forces immigration matters, helping them make informed decisions with confidence. The role combines direct advisory work with stakeholder engagement, data contribution, presentations, and representing the Naval Families Federation at events. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of Naval families while working within a supportive, flexible charity environment.
The successful candidate will ideally be a qualified IAA Level 1 Immigration Adviser, with a
full understanding of the Appendix HM Armed Forces of the Home Office Immigration
Rules. The IAA Level 1 qualification can be completed in post for the right candidate.
Location: Hybrid – HMS Excellent in Portsmouth or reasonable commuting distance in the
South East.
Contract: Fixed Term – 3-year contract
Hours: Full Time – possible part time hours for the right candidate worked flexibly between our core hours – 0900 – 1700 Monday – Thursday and 0900 – 1300 Friday.
Annual Leave: 30 days paid leave pro rata and an additional 3 days for Christmas closure.
Reports to: Head of Immigration Support Services
Salary and additional benefits: £27,000 FTE if unqualified, raising to £28,000 once qualified. Includes pension contributions of 5% after 3-months employment. Free on-site parking when working from Portsmouth office.
This role is subject to a successful DBS check and UK Security Vetting Clearance.
