Navy Leaders duo embark on epic cross-country challenge for Naval families

Two adventurous colleagues from Navy Leaders, Aiden and Oli, are preparing to take on Race Across the UK – an ambitious challenge, racing from Edinburgh to Dartmouth in support of Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC).

Navy Leaders, a division of Defence Leaders, runs a series of naval events that connect industry professionals with end users, all working towards a shared mission.

In a spirited show of support, the duo is stepping away from the boardroom and onto the road to raise funds and awareness for sailors, marines, veterans, and their families.

Race Across the UK challenges participants to travel through various checkpoints across the UK, without map apps, cars or planes – relying solely on their wits, a map, and what they can carry – all to raise vital funds in support of Naval families.

Aiden and Oli’s approach?

“We’re on a tight budget, so being resourceful and creative is going to be our biggest asset. We might end up rollerblading or skating our way to the finish!” they laughed.

As well as supporting a vital cause, the race gives Aiden and Oli the opportunity to push their limits and strengthen their working relationship.

They said:

“It’s a brilliant way to challenge ourselves while competing against likeminded teams, all raising money for an amazing charity.”

When asked about their most essential item for the journey, Oli was quick to reply: “Contact lenses – so I actually end up in Dartmouth, not Portsmouth! A tent and some earphones are up there too”, said Aiden.

Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity is proud to support those who serve and have served, along with their families. Every pound raised from this challenge event will go towards providing lifelong support for the naval community.
