By launching our appeal, we are hoping to raise awareness of the housing issues faced by Veterans in their life after the forces. Be it as a result of depression, PTSD or a family breakdown, too many find themselves in the desperate situation of being homeless.
We are hoping that by raising awareness of this issue, we can act to provide the hope and confidence that Veterans need for the future.

The University of York research that we launched at the reception highlights how some ex-Service personnel slip through the net and end up homeless after leaving the Armed Forces. Evidence suggests that well over a thousand ex-service personnel each year require urgent support to find accommodation.
On the back of this research we developed a Call to Action to help tackle this important issue.
Read moreThis weekend four former Alabaré Gloucestershire Homes for Veterans residents took on the daunting task of the Cumbrian Challenge in support of Walking With The Wounded. The 23km tab took them up Lingmoor Fell and Blake Ridge, an elevation of around 5000ft and in temperatures of around 24 degrees, and whilst they completed against about another 100 teams, the four came first for a second year running as they completed the course in around 4 ½ hours.
Paul Bradley (Ex-Parachute regiment) John Clark (Ex-Rifles), Paul Newark (Ex-Grenadier Guards) and Mark Arnold (Ex-Royal Gibraltar Regiment) decided to run the course despite the temperatures.

Film goers will have the chance to see this all-time favourite against the historic backdrop of Old Sarum airfield. So come along to dance and sing the night away on Saturday June 2nd and help raise valuable funds for Alabaré and Our Wilton’s work with homeless and vulnerable veterans.
