The leading maritime charity, Seafarers UK, is holding its Centenary Dinner at Guildhall this evening, exactly 100 years to the day since the first meeting was held in 1917 in the City of London to discuss the formation of the charity (previously known as King George’s Fund for Sailors).
Almost 300 guests will attend a formal Reception and Dinner in Guildhall to mark the occasion. On 31 October 2016, the CESSAC Community Cafe was formally opened in the Community Centre in Fallowfield Road, Colchester by Brigadier Colin Weir, Commander of 16 Air Assault Brigade. The building is the Community Centre for over 850 Service families, largely from his Brigade, the main units of which are: 7th Para RHA, 2 & 3 PARA, 13 Air Assault Support Regt RLC & 16 Close Support Medical Regt.Read more
