Read moreHundreds of military veterans are set to benefit from a nationwide scheme to tackle the most complex mental health needs of ex-armed forces personnel, launched today (Sunday) by NHS England.
The Veterans’ Mental Health Complex Treatment Service has been designed after veterans and their families from across England were invited to tell the NHS how services would work best for them.
Backed by £3.2m of funding a year, the new service aims to help 450 veterans every year and will include help for substance misuse, physical health, employment, accommodation, relationships and finances, as well as occupational and trauma focused therapies.

Read moreStand Easy works with Wounded, Injured and Sick Veterans to help their recovery through drama activities. We are based in Dundee but take Veterans from throughout Scotland. We run weekly drama/social workshops but we also run one 4 week drama project in May each year.
This year the project starts on May 7th and it will end with a short tour of Tayside Community Venues. The play will be devised by the Veterans together with a staff of professionals and also volunteer drama students. It will focus on family life in the military and after transition.
