The civilian jobs market is changing rapidly. Employers’ expectations of new hires suggest that today’s candidates need to be more agile, entrepreneurial and results-orientated than ever before.

Military skills and expertise provide the perfect antidotes to hiring shortfalls, but how do you find that essential next-step new role as you forge your next career?

Join our final Officer Employment Forum of the year as we explore today’s recruitment landscape and learn from former officers who have successfully transitioned. Hear from actively recruiting employers and senior recruitment experts from across industry sectors who, together, will provide invaluable commercial insights to help you plan your next steps.

Key themes and sessions throughout the day cover:

  • Commercial Awareness – what is it, and how do I demonstrate it?
  • Understanding & Articulating your Management Discipline
  • Finding your Fit
  • The Evolving Employment Landscape – am I prepared?

This is your opportunity to hear first-hand what employers are really looking for and gain a strong understanding of the changing world of work. So, if you’re looking for your first or fourth civilian role, this event will give you the practical knowledge and confidence needed to change roles.

You’ll leave feeling confident in your knowledge about emerging and thriving sectors and understand how and where to find your next opportunity – enabling you to better prepare and succeed in your next career move.

A MESSAGE FROM HAYS, OUR HEADLINE SPONSOR

“Hays is proud to be sponsoring this event to support professionals who have served in the military. We’re extremely passionate about placing former armed forces personnel into the world of work and offer plenty of resources to help them secure a new role upon leaving the military.

“We believe veterans possess valuable transferable skills and are often highly qualified, making them excellent candidates for exciting career opportunities across a range of industries. Leadership and communications skills alone, can make ex-forces personnel highly desirable to employers.

“It’s important that former military personnel are recognised for their range of skills, especially soft and core skills, which can be translated well into a number of job categories and the potential they have to transition into new industries with additional training and support.’’
