37.5 hours per week worked Monday – Friday

A UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is an essential requirement for this role

The RAF Association is one of the leading providers of welfare assistance to the RAF community and we exist to ensure that their sacrifice does not result in suffering, poverty, loneliness or isolation. Last year, we supported over 85,500 members of the RAF community who required practical, emotional or financial assistance.  We are there for those in need, during their darkest days, to help create a resilient, empowered and thriving RAF community.  This is an exciting time to join us within the Welfare Directorate, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to develop, plan and manage projects to meet the welfare needs of the Associations beneficiaries.

About you

Ideally, you will hold a PRINCE 2 qualification along with a proven track record of complex project management experience with a real passion for engaging with others. You will be an enthusiastic ‘hands on’ Line Manager, with significant people management experience and be able to motivate, inspire, support and coach your team of Welfare Project Officers (x2). You will be focused, yet adaptable, with your approach to all aspects of the current welfare projects and will be confident in delivering persuasive high impact presentations to wide ranging groups of people.  An understanding of dementia and also mental health would be desirable as you will be fully involved in our’ Navigating Dementia’ and ‘Finding it Tough’ flagship platforms

About the job

This is a busy role and amongst other things, you will be responsible for all project management within the Welfare Directorate, including designing project plans and supporting documentation, managing projects, supporting project sponsors, allocating and managing resources, developing and monitoring budgets, handing projects on to designated project sponsor. The role will be critical in ensuring the identification and tracking of project milestones and communicating with key stakeholders. We would love to hear your fresh ideas and visions on how we can improve our current service as you will create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Exemplary people skills are integral to this role as you will coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
