Full Time, 12 Month Maternity Cover Contract
Circa £38,000 per year plus outstanding benefits
The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund is the leading welfare charity supporting current and former members of the RAF, their partners and families, providing practical, emotional and financial support, whenever they need us. Part of that is providing help to maintain the homes of our beneficiaries through grants and loans for essential repairs and adaptations. Additionally, the Fund provides bespoke housing to support those exiting the RAF with significant disabilities through our Housing Trust.
We are seeking a compassionate and highly organised individual to provide maternity cover within the Housing team which delivers housing solutions as part of our overall support for the RAF family. Working within a team of welfare executives, you will have responsibility for identifying the needs of beneficiaries, delivering appropriate assistance within delegated spending authority and presenting higher value applications to the Grants Committees of the Fund. In addition to an ability to handle welfare casework, the Housing Executive is involved in the administration of the Fund’s loans and the management of a portfolio of Housing Trust properties, which requires working with beneficiaries, solicitors, surveyors, and occupational therapists to ensure that our properties are well maintained.
The successful candidate will need to have relevant welfare experience and preferably some experience of property management, although relevant training will be provided. An articulate communicator with IT skills suited to working in a paperless environment, you must be able to demonstrate an ability to relate to people of all ages, especially vulnerable beneficiaries, in a manner which is conducive to relieving stresses and concerns through holistic consideration and delivery of welfare solutions.
A detailed job profile is available on the Fund’s website, rafbf.org. For an informal discussion about the role please contact Em Rogers, Head of Housing & Assurance, on 020 7307 3355.
To apply, please send your CV together with a covering letter detailing why you believe you are suitable for this role and providing examples of how you meet the job specification to Pete Thompson, Head of HR, RAF Benevolent Fund, 67 Portland Place, London W1B 1AR or email HRservices@rafbf.org.uk.
The closing date for applications is 12.00pm on Friday 22 July 2022. Interviews and testing are scheduled to take place during the week commencing 01 August 2022. Please note that only candidates shortlisted for interview will be notified.
