Job description
The Royal British Legion’s Outreach Service supports beneficiaries and their families to find practical and long-lasting ways to achieve their potential, lead more fulfilling lives and take responsibility for their own future. We are seeking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic team player to join the team delivering a high quality, person-centred outreach service across the South region. With a passion for supporting and engaging beneficiaries whose issues may include being a recent prison leaver, homelessness, domestic violence, alcohol or drug dependency or mental health issues, you require the ability to work under your own initiative, combined with experience of dealing effectively with complex situations.
You will have significant experience of managing a caseload and of prioritising tasks on a daily basis. You will provide advice, advocacy and on-going support using your knowledge and experience of statutory and non-statutory service provision.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience of working with and supporting people with multiple needs and a strong practical understanding of advocacy and the person-centred approach. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to foster and maintain strong relationships to ensure proactive and effective work with clients, colleagues and other stakeholders.
You will be based at home, with regular attendance at the Plymouth Office. You will be required to travel regularly for meetings, carrying out appointments and attending training.
Extensive travel required is across Devon and Cornwall, a full driving license is essential.
The role is subject to relevant employment checks, including Enhanced DBS Clearance.
