SSAFA – Casework Administrator (South East England)

***THIS JOB VACANCY HAS NOW CLOSED***

£23,000 per annum

37.5 hours per week

Home Based –  South East England

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Casework Administrator in the South East Region at SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity.

About the role

You will be providing specialist administrative support, working closely with branch volunteers in order to ensure a consistent, timely, quality service is provided to SSAFA beneficiaries.  This will include supporting volunteer caseworkers, call handling, signposting and triaging initial enquiries.   The post is home-based, but you will need to be able to travel around the South East once COVID restrictions are lifted.

Please wait until the job offer stage before asking us about flexibility, and we will explore what’s possible for the role.

About the team

In this new role you will initially be working closely with the volunteers who run SSAFA in the South East, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries but also facilitating their work to raise awareness of SSAFA, increase the number of volunteers and build a sustainable future for SSAFA in the South East.  Over time we anticipate that the successful candidate will increase their support to SSAFA branches and volunteers across the South East.

About you

To carry out this role successfully you will be a team player with excellent organisational, customer service, communication, and IT skills.  You will also have experience of working with volunteers and the ability to handle welfare cases with sensitivity and empathy. You must be highly motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision in a home-based environment.

Knowledge of the Armed Forces and ex-Forces community would be an advantage but is not essential.

An excellent understanding of MS Office 365 (particularly databases, remote applications (such as MS Teams) and MS Excel) is essential). However, we will train you in the SSAFA -specific systems you will need for the role.

SSAFA is an employer that values the diversity of its workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.

No agencies please. Any unsolicited submissions from agencies will be accepted as a direct application from the candidate and no fees will be payable.
