A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Community Fundraising Officer to join the Fundraising at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.
SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, supports the person behind the uniform; any time they need us, in any way they need us, for as long as they need us. Every year, SSAFA helps more than 80,000 people from the Forces family to get back on their feet; those currently serving, reserves, veterans and their families. Support is there for people at any stage in their military career; from the youngest recruit to the oldest veteran – no one’s service is ever forgotten. We give hope, help and personal support for as long as it takes to get that person’s life back to where they want it to be.
About the role
Supported by the Head of Community Fundraising, this role works closely with the regional, digital, corporate events and individual giving teams to create loyal, long term supporters for the charity.
You will lead on a number of community fundraising initiatives, have the opportunity to develop your own ideas and build your skills across a wide range of fundraising products and channels. You will judge the potential opportunity and cost of each activity and focus on optimising fundraising opportunities.
About you
We are looking for an exceptional individual to recruit and manage community fundraisers, to deliver a programme of events and activities, and identify new opportunities for development. You will be passionate about delivering an outstanding supporter care experience.
Experience:
- You will have managed a wide and diverse range of ‘DIY’/community-based fundraisers
- You will have a practical understanding of CRM databases, data processing (GDPR) and optimising communications in the supporter journey
- You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of income generation within the charity sector
- You will be highly organised and able to prioritise within a constantly changing environment
- You will have an eye for detail; and, long-term planning/project skills are essential
There will be an occasional need to travel across the UK and to work evenings and weekends at key events.
