SSAFA – Volunteer Operations Project Assistant (London)

Fixed term contract for up to 12 months

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Project Assistant in the Volunteer Operations Project team at SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity.

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic individual to provide integral support to the Volunteer Operations Project Manager.  Particular focus is on two specific projects affecting the volunteer network – the rollout of Office 365 to over 6000 volunteers and the implementation of Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for all relevant volunteers.  These important projects and their success is a key part of the development of the Volunteer Operations strategy.

The role will be varied and challenging, particularly when liaising with a range of key stakeholders and coaching users where required. You will monitor the progress of the projects, reporting on uptake and escalating issues for the attention of the Volunteer Operations Project Manager and/or Director of Volunteer Operations.

Requirements

To carry out this role successfully you will have experience in the voluntary sector and in working with volunteers.  As the first point of contact in relation to all queries regarding the projects you will have demonstrable experience of Microsoft Office applications and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

You will be a self starter, able to take the initiative and meet deadlines.
