About Stoll
Stoll is the leading provider of supported housing for those Veterans who require additional support to live independently due to homelessness, disability or a variety of barriers. Established by theatrical impresario Sir Oswald Stoll in 1916, Stoll was founded to provide affordable homes for disabled Servicemen and their families injured in World War I. Stoll is a Housing Association and a registered charity and has grown and developed considerably since these early days and those leaving the Armed Forces face a whole host of new challenges. Stoll offers a wide range of services to those battling some of the major issues affecting those coming out of the Armed Forces. We want all Veterans to lead the fulfilling lives that they deserve.
About the role
We are looking for a volunteer to support Stoll’s governance through their significant experience and credibility in the following specialised areas:
- Information technology project management
- Data Security
- Customer relationship management
- Communications technology
- Information technology regulatory frameworks.
This volunteer position involves attending four annual meetings of the Finance and Human Resources Committee (FHRC). These are usually held on week days (Thursdays and Fridays). You will also provide support to the Chair of the FHRC and work with the other Members of the Committee and the Stoll Executive to review policies and procedures and advise on Stoll’s IT strategy and practice. You may also be asked to advise on specific operational matters as and when required.
Committee Membership is the conduit to Trustee Board Membership dependent on the skills needed on the Board.
Expenses are paid and training is provided to support the role according to need.
About you
With experience of operating at a high level in IT or data, you will be able to advise and assist the charity on the issues brought to the Finance and Human Resources Committee and the Board of Trustees
Technology qualifications are desirable. Previous experience of the military, housing issues or charities is not essential.
