The Poppy Factory

The Poppy Factory – Portfolio and Partnerships Lead

***THIS JOB VACANCY HAS NOW CLOSED***

Full time: 37.5 hours per week
Location: The Poppy Factory, Richmond
Contract duration: Fixed term until December 2023
Salary: £33,000 – £35,000 (dependent upon experience)

The Poppy Factory has been supporting veterans with health conditions for nearly 100 years through our historic factory in Richmond and through our employment service operating across England and Wales.

In January 2022, we’ll be launching an exciting two-year portfolio funded through the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust’s Veterans Places, Pathways and People Programme. The portfolio brings together a partnership of services seeking to develop better, more joined-up, lasting support for veterans with mental health needs across London. We’re looking for a talented and motivated individual, ideally with experience in mental health or social care and partnership working, to lead the portfolio.

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Are passionate about improving the lives of people struggling with mental health challenges.
  • Have strong leadership and organisational skills to effectively coordinate a portfolio of projects and to seek out and exploit new opportunities to increase the impact of the portfolio for the benefit of veterans.
  • Are creative with problem-solving skills, who asks questions to learn more about a situation and is thoughtful and tenacious in working with others to find a range of possible solutions.
  • A strong communicator with high emotional intelligence who can manage relationships with a range of stakeholders from public and charity sector organisations.

The successful candidate for this role will ideally have experience of working in health or the charity sector. Experience of the armed forces community and the challenges faced by veterans is an advantage, however similar experience in a different area will also be considered.

The Poppy Factory aims to be an exemplar employer. We provide competitive terms and conditions of employment including:

  • A generous Company Pension scheme
  • Company-paid life assurance
  • Training and on-going Professional Development

Please refer to the candidate pack for further information.

For an informal conversation about the role, please contact Dave Masters on 0208 9391873.

The closing date for this vacancy is midnight on Sunday 9 January 2022, however applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and we may close early if we get enough quality applications, so we encourage candidates to apply promptly. Interviews are expected to take place in mid-January 2022.
