Veterans Outreach Support – Executive Assistant

  •  Location: Portsmouth, with scope for occasional homeworking
  •  Salary: £30,000 – £33,000 (FTE)
  •  Job Type: Permanent

We are working in partnership with Veterans Outreach Support (VOS), an award-winning charity that offers welfare, wellbeing, mental health support and services to veterans of the UK Armed Forces and the Merchant Navy, and their partners, in Portsmouth, Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight. Over the last 4 years, VOS has seen an increasing demand for the vital mental health services and support they provide and has significantly expanded its range of peer-supported wellbeing activities and social groups.

As VOS continues to develop, their Chief Executive Officer (CEO) requires a highly organised and dedicated Executive Assistant to provide essential support. The postholder will act as the primary internal and external point of contact for the CEO, supporting with diary management, correspondence, and trustee requests and arrangements.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent project management, administration, and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience in minute-taking, report writing, and presentation preparation
  • Comfortable and confident communicating with a range of stakeholders (eg. Board of Trustees, VIP and senior executives, to volunteers and service users)
  • Previous experience of supporting a CEO, Executive team or similar would be advantageous but is not essential

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a charity that makes a huge impact in the lives and families of those who have served our country. If you have a good grasp of priorities, scrupulous attention to detail, and are highly organised, then we encourage you to apply.
