Veterans Scotland – Executive Chair

An opportunity to lead and develop one of the key Veterans organisations in Scotland

Veterans Scotland is seeking an Executive Chair to lead the charity from April 2024. Veterans Scotland is a charitable membership association of over 90 organisations connected by a common aim of work with the veterans’ community. In accordance with our constitution, the appointment is for an initial period of three years, which may subsequently be extended.

Operating at the strategic level, the Executive Chair has regular contact with Scottish Government ministers, leaders of local authorities, the Service community and public bodies within Scotland, representing the Veterans sector and helping to shape public services for Veterans.  The role also operates pan-UK with regular input to UK government initiatives via Confederation of British Services Organisations.

This role is part-time, on average 1.5 days per week.  The charity is headquartered in Edinburgh, however it is flexible and some home working will be possible.

Salary is £16,500 per annum, representing a pro rata salary of £55,000, plus access to a NEST workplace pension.
