Victory Services Club – Support Services Director

***THIS JOB VACANCY HAS NOW CLOSED***

The Victory Services Club in London is a successful and prestigious private members club exclusively for serving and retired members of all ranks of the UK Armed Forces (and their allies), and their immediate families.  The Club was established in 1907 as a charity with two primary objectives: to promote military efficiency and esprit de corps, and to relieve need, hardship or distress amongst serving personnel and their dependants.  The Club is located adjacent to Marble Arch and provides 202 bedrooms, 7 Conference Rooms and impressive dining facilities.  Club membership now totals over 61,000.

We are now looking to appoint a new Support Services Director with effect from 10th April 2017, following the retirement of Simon Spence OBE. With responsibility for Facilities Management, Club Membership and Human Resource management, this presents an excellent opportunity for someone with impressive Infrastructure, Project and Programme Planning and HR skills. The applicant must have impeccable people skills and a close affinity to the work of military charities.  Professionally qualified in Facilities Management (or similar), and educated to degree level (or equivalent), the successful applicant must be able to write and present convincing Board-level briefings to the Trustees and Council. He or she will report directly to the CEO/Club Secretary and be a member of a Senior Management Board, comprising the CEO, Operations Director, Financial Controller and Support Services Director.

This appointment presents an exciting opportunity for a second career, whilst making a difference, in a growing charity. The re-numeration package includes a salary of circa £56,500, 30 days annual leave (plus public holidays), a good contributory pension scheme and a season ticket loan.

Applications are invited by 24th February 2017.  Interviews will be held in the week commencing 1st March 2017. For an informal conversation please contact Nigel Beet, the CEO/Club Secretary, via nigel.beet@vsc.co.uk.  Alternatively, contact Ms Sophie Ashbury, the Club’s HR Manager via sophie.ashbury@vsc.co.uk.

Interested candidates should apply with a two page covering letter, detailing relevant experience and an up to date CV by email to jobs@vsc.co.uk.
