Salary: £9.50 per hr
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (e.g. 9-5, half hour unpaid break)
Contract Type: 3 Months Fixed Term with the possibility to extend for a further 3 months

Do you have what it takes to be part of the Walking With The Wounded team? We have an exciting opportunity for you to become our temporary Events Assistant, joining a small but dedicated team empowering ex-service personnel to regain their independence, thrive and contribute in our communities. You will be working on an exciting portfolio of events, from the Great North Run to the Marathon des Sables, supporting our fundraisers to maximise their efforts for the charity.
Walking With The Wounded supports those who have served in the Armed Forces and their families, We specialise in developing pathways into employment with organisations who recognise and value the unique skills and qualities embedded within our ex-service personnel.
If you join our team, you will support the Events Manager in delivering a range of sector leading events, specialising in omni-channel participant engagement. The next few months see our two biggest fundraising events; the Cumbrian Challenge and Walking Home For Christmas. You will play a critical role in helping the charity to deliver memorable events that deliver over £650,000 to help fund our vital work. Your expertise along with a client-focused approach will ensure that you get the job done whilst meeting the unique needs and challenges of the charity.
This is a temporary delivery role and you will have a fabulous opportunity to learn and develop your skills in a charity that is at the cutting edge of event fundraising. In this role no two days are the same and every day will bring new challenges for you to get stuck into.
