We are a financially sustainable £7million charity which aims to provide camaraderie, benevolence and support to women who have served in the Army. Additionally, we aim to exert influence within the military charity sector to broaden support for female veterans, particularly through our Female Veterans Transformation Programme.

Established in 1919, our benevolence fund helps female veterans who need financial support, working closely with The Royal British Legion (RBL) and the Soldiers’, Sailors’ and Airmen’s Family Association (SSAFA). Last year we awarded grants totalling over £260,000 to 230 female veterans, making a real difference to their lives.

We organise both national and local events for our members to attend where they meet up with old friends, remember those we have lost, support each other, have a lot of fun and make new and lasting memories. We have over 3000 active members which we hope to grow as we estimate there are many female veterans eligible to join our Association but currently unconnected to us.

We are now looking to recruit an experienced Membership and Volunteering Officer to support the development and delivery of our wide range of events and co-ordinate and manage our committed group of volunteers who support key association events.

You will also be responsible for managing the membership (engagement, records and reporting) and support to the Membership Council.

You will work with a wide range of stakeholders and will have excellent interpersonal skills to enable positive working relationships with professionals and volunteers.

You will be required to support our volunteers with training, attending events and the various policies and processes that are required to ensure they can effectively and safely take part in any events.

You will ideally have experience of arranging and running events including booking  venues,  refreshments, liaising with guests, and coordinating attendance, whilst understanding the needs of our members, most of whom are aged between 50 and 100 years old.
