For 25 years, Okain McLennan of Fortrose has volunteered for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, recently honoured Clive Matthews, caseworker volunteer, South East region, with the Sir James Gildea Global Award for his outstanding commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community over the past 20 years.

Volunteers, staff, teams, and partners of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity have been recognised at an awards ceremony held during the charity’s Annual Members’ Meeting in London at the Victory Services Club on 10 July.

A team of seven staff from Sodexo took part in a successful volunteer day organised jointly by RNAS Yeovilton Service Committee and SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, transforming the site’s “mindfulness” garden – a key feature of the Sir Donald Gosling Lookout Wellbeing Centre.

Andy Middlemiss, 76, a respected and long-serving volunteer for SSAFA, the armed forces charity, and former lieutenant colonel, has been recognised as a Community Champion by the Kinross-shire Partnership for his outstanding contribution to SSAFA and the local area.

Chandra Budhathoki, a much-respected volunteer caseworker in Reading for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity has been awarded the Area Commander’s Certificate of Recognition by Thames Valley Police (TVP) for the invaluable contribution he has made in Reading within and between communities.
