About the role

RAFA Housing Ltd is a registered provider of social housing providing independent living for people aged over 60 who have served in the RAF (as well as their spouses).  Stanmore House in Storrington is situated on the edge of the gorgeous South Downs National Park and is made up of 32 self-contained flats along with additional facilities to enable our tenants to enjoy an independent lifestyle. The Independent Living Manager (ILM) will work closely with the Head of Community Support to oversee the provision of an effective and personalised housing management service to our tenants by overseeing all repairs and maintenance programmes along with complying with our housing policies and legislative requirements. As well as tenancy and estate management you will actively support and promote independent living including social, financial and digital independence. With a background in a similar role, you will be confident in contributing towards the development and review of our housing initiatives and policies.

About you

Whilst  a housing related qualification would be desirable, we require the post holder to have at least three years’ experience in a housing management role or similar in a social housing setting.  You will have an up to date knowledge of relevant national regulatory requirements and policies for social housing and their application in practice. Management experience of overseeing the delivery of frontline maintenance services and planned services of work is an essential requirement for this role. On a more personal level, we are looking for someone who understands the needs of older people, displays patience and empathy and is confident in facilitating meetings with tenants as part of consultation and involvement activities.
