This is a really exciting opportunity for an experienced leader and proven manager to join the Royal Air Force’s leading welfare charity and anyone who cares about delivering person-centred, holistic and effective support and is armed the right skill sets, should strongly consider applying. Applications are very welcome from exceptional candidates from the RAF. The Fund’s vision is that no member of the RAF Family will ever face adversity alone. This applies right across the Spectrum of Care, from young to old, seeking to meet their needs as best we can. The RAF Family (c1.4 million people) supports those who are currently serving through to retired veterans and their partners/widows/widowers, the latter group comprising c75% of the whole Family. Enabling this work is a key feature of the role.

The Fund is currently celebrating its centenary and the Board is determined to support as many as possible within the RAF Family, recognising that many are facing age related challenges. Working alongside other Welfare Heads of Department (HoDs), the occupant will drive forward our support for those with housing needs, both inside our unique Housing Trust of more than 210 UK-wide properties, and more generally enabling people to live longer at home. They will also be the lead Welfare HoD for Stakeholder Engagement. The incumbent should have the skills to strengthen the Directorate’s assurance activities, overseeing delivery and compliance, including safeguarding and data protection. They will also play a key role in supporting our Fund Ambassadors and developing our benchmarking capability. This position plays a key role in the Welfare Management Team and across the Fund.

The role is full-time i.e. 36¼ hours per week with an annual holiday entitlement of 26 days (excluding Public Holidays) and a generous pension contribution and medical cover package.
For an informal discussion about the role please contact Adam Stacey or Jenny Warner on 0207 998 8888 or via email info@charismarecruitment.co.uk. To apply, please send your CV (3 pages max) together with a covering letter (2 pages max) detailing why you believe you are the most suitable person for this role and how you meet the person specification to info@charismarecruitment.co.uk, quoting reference number JO1714 or directly through https://www.charismarecruitment.co.uk/head-of-housing-and-assurance

Final interviews, where selected, will be held on Tuesday 3 December 2019. An application presumes that candidates are free for these dates.
