The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) Trustee Board is delighted to confirm the appointment of Samantha (Sam) Nicolson as its new Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect.
Sam has been serving as Interim CEO, providing strong leadership through a period of strategic development supporting the naval community. Her appointment marks the next chapter in the charity’s continued mission to support sailors, marines, and their families for life.
With a proven track record in charitable leadership and a deep understanding of the Royal Navy community, Sam brings a wealth of experience, passion, and purpose to the role. Under her leadership, the RNRMC will continue to build on its vital work — ensuring that everyone who serves or has served, and their families, are supported through every stage of life.
Samantha Nicolson MBE, CEO of RNRMC, said:
“I am so pleased that the Board has appointed me into the CEO role on a permanent basis. Having served the charity and our beneficiaries for 17 years now, I feel I have a good grounding in what is required for this role and what is needed to take the charity forward in these uncertain times. We will continue to work tirelessly for those that need us most, in partnership with the other Naval charities as well as the Royal Navy.”
Chair of Trustees, Dr Brian Gilvary, said:
“The Board is delighted to confirm Sam’s appointment as Chief Executive. During her time as Interim CEO, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and a heartfelt commitment to the people we serve. We are confident she will continue to drive the charity forward with energy, empathy, and integrity.”
RNRMC remains the principal charity of the Royal Navy, working in partnership with organisations across the Naval Service and wider Armed Forces community to ensure that no one is left behind.
