BFBS (British Forces Broadcasting Service) presenters and teams across the UK have been recognised for their outstanding work at this year’s Community Radio Awards in Bradford, taking home no fewer than six accolades: two Gold Awards, two Bronze Awards, and two Finalist placements.
The awards, completely independent of any association, and widely recognised as the benchmark of excellence in local and community broadcasting, celebrate the dedication of BFBS community stations in entertaining, informing, connecting and championing military communities across the nation. The esteemed judging panel includes leaders across the community radio sector, academics, broadcasters and third sector experts.
This year’s BFBS winners, as chosen by the judges, were:
Gold Awards
- Chris Kaye (BFBS Catterick) – Presenter of the Year, Man
- Natasha Reneaux (BFBS Aldershot) – Specialist Content Show of The Year (Month of the Military Child)
Bronze Awards
- Natasha Reneaux (BFBS Aldershot) – News, Journalism & Factual Storytelling (Jacob’s Medal)
- Mark McKenzie (BFBS Scotland) and Major Karen Tait MBE (Families’ Activity Breaks) – Voices of The Community (The FAB Hour)
Finalists
- Jason Herbert (BFBS Blandford) – News, Journalism & Factual Storytelling (Combat Stress Champion)
- Honor Mant (BFBS Salisbury Plain) – Young Person of The Year, Under 25
From individual presenters to collaborative shows, these honours reflect the breadth of talent and quality behind BFBS programming, as well as the impact of our regional teams.
