Due to the extent of his injuries, Martin had to learn to read, write and talk again, showing remarkable determination and bravery. Several service charities have supported him during his recovery, but Martin will say that the NFA has stood closest to him throughout and has given him a purpose.

The walk gets under way at 9.30am, refreshments will be available at the start and at halfway and a hog roast will be served at the finish.
