With the mercury beginning to tumble, and what looks like a chill winter coming our way, some of the best heads in the land are sporting a fine bobble hat in the colours of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

Billy Grew, a nineteen-year-old engineering apprentice at Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) raised more than £2,100 for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity in the recent Phil Price Memorial Woodpecker Rally near Ludlow.

A firm favourite on the calendar of the Sport of Kings is the Chepstow Raceday, which since 2014 has raised more than £190,000 for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity with £20,000 raised last year alone.

If the road to Hell is paved with good intentions, then the 1,500-mile road from Dover to Gibraltar on the Veterans’ Banger Rally (VBR) is paved with enthusiasm.
