Read moreForces in Mind Trust (FiMT), a grant awarding body with the aim of enabling all ex-Service personnel and their families to have a successful and sustainable transition to civilian life, has just passed a significant milestone – their 100th grant award.
The award to Cranfield University, for £96,688, coincides with the celebration of 100 years of women serving in the UK Armed Forces. The focus of this work is to explore the transition that female Service leavers make from the Armed Forces to civilian employment.

Read moreDue to an increase in the number of applications for the Forces Media Academy’s Media Production Course, the FMA is now accepting applications until Friday 9th February.
The course is a free one-year Higher National Certificate (HNC) starting in September, and is run at SSVC’s headquarters in Buckinghamshire.
Each student also receives an £18,000 bursary from the Forces Media Academy’s principal charity partner, The Royal British Legion.

Read moreAt a special Awards Ceremony at Goldsmiths’ Hall in London last night, inspirational Deptherapy Programme Member and Ambassador Ben Lee was one of three wounded ex-servicemen honoured to receive an Endeavour Fund Award in the presence of HRH Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle.
Ben Lee, a former Private in the Royal Engineers, who lost both his legs and suffered other catastrophic injuries whilst searching and disposing of IEDs in Afghanistan in 2011, was presented with The Recognising Achievement Award.
The Royal Foundation’s Endeavour Fund supports wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women and encourages them to rekindle their fighting spirit through sporting and adventurous endeavours.
