An internal military network is a great way to maximise the benefits that veterans can bring to your organisation.
If you are thinking about developing your own internal military network, here is what you need to consider.
1, Have a network with clear purpose and vision aligned to your organisation’s brand/vision and ensure activity is linked back to this.
2, Have an individual or group with the commitment/motivation to make the network succeed and share the work load.
3, No need to reinvent the wheel – learn and leverage from other schemes/activities already being run in the business and what other business and sectors have already implemented.

Antony was forced to leave the Royal Marines for health reasons, but an OA career consultation provided the turning point he needed to find new employment.
Shortly after joining the Royal Marines, Antony Thompson was deployed to Afghanistan in January 2009. He later served in intelligence roles, and then in 2013 was selected for officer training. Unfortunately, he was injured on the course, forcing him to take administrative roles for two years as a Lieutenant, before receiving a medical discharge in April 2017.Read more

X-Forces Enterprise (XFE), together with Greenwich Hospital, A Crown Royal Navy Charity, met with the 2017 cohort from the Naval Families Enterprise Project in Portsmouth on Thursday 12 April 2018.
The event, which was held in the stunning surroundings of the Portsmouth Room at the Portsmouth Guildhall, was sponsored by Kilfrost Ltd and hosted by Solent LEP. It was a reunion for the sixteen members of the 2017 cohort and celebrated their success. It was also the launch-pad for the second programme which will start in September 2018.Read more
Unemployed Welsh veterans are to be handed a lifeline after a transformative employment support programme for ex-service personnel has been given financial backing.
Currently in Wales, 1 in 20 has served in the Armed Forces while, across the country, working-age veterans are twice as likely to be unemployed as civilians.
However, military and disability charity Royal British Legion Industries is now set to tackle the issue by rolling out additional courses of their LifeWorks programme after receiving more than £96,000 from the charitable arm of supermarket giant Morrisons, The Morrisons Foundation.Read more

The day will start with an overview of project management within a business setting, including a review of qualifications followed by a series of presentations delivered by those already working in Project Management who will share their experience and highlight key factors to consider when entering a particular sector; The day will be finished by a Q&A led by HR teams within the PM sector who will be able to provide insight on the application process.
