Has your Army family been posted overseas in the last three years? Have you returned to the UK after an overseas posting? The Army Families Federation (AFF) has released a new survey to help them to gain a better understanding of the impact of an overseas posting on Army families.
They want to hear about your family life overseas: what works well and where improvement is needed compared to Army life in the UK.
Durham based charity Finchale, which supports veterans and their families from the North East has received a grant of more than £100,000 to continue its valuable work in the community.
The grant comes from ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the British Army’s national charity, and will provide support to 70 Ex-forces personnel from across the region.
In addition to helping with the cost of staffing, the grant will go towards providing individualised, professional case management that will enable veterans from the North East to access support in areas such as personal finance, housing, relationships, mental and physical health, training and education, whilst learning the necessary skills to get back into employment.

The event, Easter Family Fun, will involve a range of Easter-themed art activities, including cake decorating and a blindfolded woodland egg-chime trail, giving participants the chance to win a basket of exciting Easter-themed prizes. It will take place from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday 31 March at the charity’s training and rehabilitation centre in Llandudno, North Wales.

Read moreA fundraiser from Wiltshire will take part in the London Marathon this year in aid of Combat Stress, after they helped her friend’s son, Marc, before he sadly passed away from a heart condition last year.
Catherine Parfitt decided to support the veterans’ mental health charity after they helped Marc, who had post-traumatic stress disorder following tours of Afghanistan.
Catherine said “Marc was really struggling with his mental health and Combat Stress supported him. If he was still here he would be wanting to raise money to support their work.

In 2017, 80 charities filed accounts with a modified audit opinion, meaning that their accounts are, or may be, materially misstated. This is 17 fewer than in 2016.
