A knockout day of fun and games entertainment will take place in Truro next month in aid of sailing charity Turn to Starboard.
The It’s a Knockout tournament, based on the hit TV series, is returning to Malpas Park in Truro on Sunday 29 July.
Last summer, 13 teams from across the county went head-to-head to help raise funds for the charity that help injured veterans by taking them sailing. Now the gauntlet is being thrown down again for teams to take part in the contest featuring rounds of inflatable jousting and a foam covered assault course.Read more
A Cornish sailing charity has announced the official launch of its new racing division, and is calling out for injured veterans to get on board.
Turn to Starboard uses sail training to support Armed Forces personnel affected by military operations from its base at Falmouth in Cornwall. Now the charity has opened a second office at Gosport near Portsmouth and is inviting veterans to get on the ‘right tack’ to recovery by taking part in a fun 3-day sail race competition next month.
In partnership with Help for Heroes and The Endeavour Fund, the charity is holding a fun 3-day sailing regatta on Wednesday 18, Thursday 19 and Friday 20 July, 2018.Read more
A team of volunteers have completed a bid to live on two life rafts for 24 hours to raise money for a sailing charity.
The team’s task in Falmouth Harbour, Cornwall, started on Friday at 17:00 BST. The fundraising event was held in aid of Turn to Starboard, a charity supporting injured veterans by taking them sailing.
Organisers said volunteers were tasked with writing songs, drawing pictures and modelling dough during the fun challenge, with a support crew judging results.Read more
An international powerboat race, which comes to Falmouth from June 29 to July 1, has announced a partnership with a sailing charity for injured veterans.
The new partnership will see the International Powerboat Race Club (IPRC) join together with Falmouth-based Turn to Starboard for the first time to raise funds for those affected by military operations.
After a day of testing and launching the powerboats at Port Pendennis Shipyard, drivers will make a splash on Saturday, 30 June as they race two laps of a course from Falmouth to Plymouth and back – a total of 144 miles.Read more

In partnership with Help for Heroes and The Endeavour Fund, Turn to Starboard will launch a new racing division in May from a new office at Haslar Marina in Gosport.
