The Officers’ Association (OA) has secured a corporate membership with The Leaders Club, a networking group that meets in London. This will allow up to 5 serving or former officers from the OA community to join their monthly networking events. Read moreOn 10th January 2018, we announced our 43 amazing Finalists for the 2018 Soldiering On Awards from all areas of the UK and all walks of life. Each Finalist will be represented at a special Finalists reception at the House of Lords and will go forward to the Awards Night on the 20th April.
The 2018 Awards include three new Business Award categories in partnership with X-Forces, recognising the exceptional accomplishments of former members of the armed forces in the business community.
Just when you thought last year’s celebrations were all over and forgotten… here is a round-up of what Future for Heroes achieved in 2017.
129 individuals attended our 10 courses, 74% army, 14% RAF, 5% RN and 7% welfare organisation representatives/training support. Of which 82% were veterans, 10% serving and 8% partners.
The courses take place in The Lake District with The Brathay Trust. Affording among other attributes peace, tranquility and serenity.

Read moreRFEA The Forces Employment Charity will work with Team London, the Mayor of London’s volunteering programme, to deliver Forces for London. This new initiative is co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Mayor of London to increase the employment rate of veterans in London.
Many veterans struggle to find a job after their military service. By 2020, Forces for London will support 200 veterans who face such barriers, all of whom will receive mentoring support, with 190 completing volunteering, and more than 120 securing meaningful sustained employment, training or education.

The decision to commission this research came about from the impact of FiMT’s Our Community-Our Covenant report and the desire to understand delivery of the Armed Forces Covenant more widely. Shared Intelligence, in partnership with NatCen, were appointed to deliver this research following a competitive tender process.

The Academy, which is part of the Services Sound & Vision Corporation (SSVC), provides 15 ex-service personnel per year with the training, experience and qualifications they need to forge successful careers in the media, whether videography, digital, TV or radio.
