Read moreDates for RBLI’s intensive veteran employment programme LifeWorks have been released for 2018. Of the veterans who have attended LifeWorks courses, 83% find sustained employment within a year, 80% of those individuals suffer with either a physical or mental disability or health condition.
The LifeWorks Families schedule has also been updated. LWF is a support service which aims to help veteran’s spouses and partners into sustained employment.

Rory Underwood MBE is a legendary international rugby player, scoring a record 49 tries for England, winning six caps for the British Lions and playing at Leicester Tigers for 14 years. He also spent 18 years as a pilot in the RAF, spending more than 3,000 hours flying Tornados, Canberras, Hawks and Domines. Rory is now an experienced facilitator, psychometric profiler and performance coach.

(Those expenses that are vital for a charity to operate but understandably can be more difficult to raise). This will allow us that extra breathing space to focus on what we do best: offering support to that small number of service leavers and veterans (and their partners/spouses) who may find transition somewhat challenging.

The team was trained and selected by Help for Heroes to represent the UK at the 2018 Warrior Games from 1 – 9 June in Colorado Springs and they took part in nine adaptive sports: Athletics, Archery, Cycling, Indoor Rowing, Sitting Volleyball, Shooting, Swimming, Powerlifting and Wheelchair Basketball.
Competitor Ian Primmer served in the Royal Logistic Corps and suffers from PTSD and hip pain. Ian, who competed in cycling, swimming, and shooting.
Read morePersonnel leaving the armed forces will now be able to keep their military ID, Minister for Defence People and Veterans Tobias Ellwood has announced.
The move will allow veterans to maintain their emotional connection with the armed forces, allowing them to keep the card they have carried on them throughout their career. Retaining their ID card, known as the MOD Form 90, will also allow service leavers to be identified as veterans quickly and easily, aiding their transition into civilian life.
