Read morePrince Harry presented government awards to organisations that offer the Armed Forces community employment and training opportunities.
The Prince was joined by Defence Secretary Sir Michael Fallon at a recent Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) awards ceremony. They gave 33 Gold Awards to employers that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support for the Armed Forces community. The recipients included Airbus, Combat Pest Control, Balfour Beatty, General Dynamics UK, Network Rail, the Metropolitan Police Service and Transport for London.

Top UK companies attended the event hosted by AMS at their London headquarters. The discussion focused on ‘Older Veterans – An Untapped Talent?’ a report which compared the transition experience of Veterans leaving the Services pre and post the age of 50. This primary research was commissioned by the OA and conducted by Chime Insight and Engagement Group.

Read moreThe Not Forgotten Association was thrilled to have been included in The Irish Guards Benevolent Trust’s latest fundraising venture – ‘Rumble in the City’ – a boxing event, which took place last night at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in London. With the proceeds supporting the IGBF, the NFA, Back On Track and The JBVC Foundation, the evening was filled by eight bouts of first-class boxing, delicious food and wine and an auction with spectacular prizes, all accompanied by the Band, Pipes and Drums of the First Battalion Irish Guards.
Read moreFrom 19th – 28th November, eight Falklands veterans and twelve injured servicemen from more recent conflicts will embark on a 75 mile trek across the Falklands, to commemorate the 35th Anniversary of the Falklands War. Many of the injured servicemen we have met in recent years from the conflicts of Iraq and Afghanistan joined the military because of the Falklands conflict. They have met and made friends with Falklands veterans through attending the NFA’s events over the years.
Read moreThe first intake of students at the new Forces Media Academy met The Duke of York yesterday as he opened the state-of-the-art media facility.
Fifteen service leavers and veterans have just started the unique one-year Higher National Certificate (HNC) Media Production Course at the Academy, which is run by the Services Sound & Vision Corporation (SSVC).
The Duke of York, who is Royal Patron of SSVC, spoke to the students during a tour of the Academy.
He said: “To provide a course like this, for either retiring or leaving veteran service personnel, is absolutely second-to-none.
Read moreIn December 2016, Walking With The Wounded (WWTW) were awarded a grant of £40,000 by our Charity. The money has helped to fund their mental health support programme, Head Start, as well as provide Employment Advisor support for veterans, some of which are at risk of homelessness.
WWTW was established in 2010 and has since supported our veterans to re-integrate back into society by sustaining their independence. Their main focus is to utilise the inherent skills of our armed service personnel to support them on their journey back into employment in the civilian workplace.
