Families in Scotland encouraged to share their posting experience with AFF

The Army Families Federation (AFF) is calling on Army families in Scotland to take part in their latest survey to help inform them about the issues families face and any unique circumstances a Scottish posting poses.

Families’ feedback will help to shape the charity’s upcoming Scotland roadshow, which takes place on 23 March in Kinloss.

‘Blind Veterans UK has been wonderful’: Sunderland blind veteran reflects on support over the past year

Sunderland blind veteran, Dennis Taylor, praises the support he has received from Blind Veterans UK, one year on from when he first became a beneficiary in January 2016.

Dennis, 91, lives in Sunderland in Tyne and Wear, but was born in Croydon. He joined the Royal Navy in 1942 and after training at HMS Collingwood he served in Motor Torpedo Boats in the Indian Ocean, patrolling the coast from Mombasa to Dar es Salaam.

Preston blind artist displaying incredible paintings in St George’s Hall art exhibition

A blind artist from Lancashire who who says he owes his life to Blind Veterans UK has attended the opening of a special art exhibition that features his work which will be auctioned off to raise money for the charity.

Matt Rhodes, 42 and from Preston, is exhibiting his work along with other blind veterans at the ‘Art – Life Beyond Sight Loss’ exhibition which opened its doors to the public on Saturday (14/01).

Forces in Mind Trust – Invitation to Sector Briefing in Portsmouth or Andover

On 30th and 31st March 2017 the Forces in Mind Trust (FiMT) will be holding two briefing sessions in the South of England with the choice of Portsmouth (30th) or Andover (31st). The aim of these sessions is to help the Armed Forces Community, the Services Charities sector, and other key stakeholders and interested parties understand how FiMT can support ex-Service personnel, and their families, during their transition from military into civilian life.

The Peace Education Programme (PEP) begins in February 2017 at Stoll – All welcome. TPRF works to advance Prem Rawat’s message that peace is possible for each individual––that peace is both an inner resource and innate right. TPRF’s Peace for People initiatives include international events with government, education, and business leaders to promote understanding of individual peace as the basis for world peace.
