The study is published in the Journal of Disability and Rehabilitation under the title: “Can scuba diving offer therapeutic benefit to military veterans experiencing physical and psychological injuries as a result of combat? A service evaluation of Deptherapy UK.”

The It’s a Knockout tournament, based on the hit TV series, is returning to Malpas Park in Truro on Sunday 29 July.
Last summer, 13 teams from across the county went head-to-head to help raise funds for the charity that help injured veterans by taking them sailing. Now the gauntlet is being thrown down again for teams to take part in the contest featuring rounds of inflatable jousting and a foam covered assault course.

Read moreDefence Secretary Gavin Williamson praised Broughton House for the care it provides to veterans and for its vision for the future during a visit to the Salford care home for ex-servicemen and women.
Mr Williamson, who was accompanied by Bolton West MP Chris Green, met with veterans, staff and board members during his tour and learned more about Broughton House’s redevelopment plans.
The two-acre site is to be transformed into a Veterans’ Care Village in a £14m scheme.

A group of Royal Army Medical Corps veterans, treated by veterans’ mental health charity Combat Stress, will have their artwork and poetry on display at Sandham Memorial Chapel in celebration of Armed Forces Day (30 June 2018).
The exhibition In Arduis Fidelis (Faithful in Adversity) will be held at the chapel in Burghclere, Hampshire, from Wednesday 27 June to Sunday 8 July (Wed – Sun only).
Owned by the National Trust, Sandham Memorial Chapel showcases the genius of Stanley Spencer who created it and the 19 paintings housed inside, depicting his experiences as a Royal Army Medical Corps orderly both at the Beaufort Hospital, Bristol, and then in Salonika, Greece, during the First World War.

At the end of May 2018, UK scuba diving rehabilitation charity Deptherapy held it’s largest ever expedition to the Egyptian Red Sea. A team of 25, including 17 wounded in service veterans, all suffering from life changing physical and / or mental injuries, travelled to Roots Dive Camp in El Quseir as part of Team Deptherapy.

In the last decade, the veterans’ mental health charity has seen a 143% increase in referrals. Combat Stress research, NHS England and the Ministry of Defence all estimate a continued increase in the number of veterans seeking help for mental health issues.
