Why does KPMG have a Military Internship Programme?
Four years ago, Sid saw that KPMG could benefit from recruiting people with military experience. Many competitors and clients already had military recruitment programmes, and Sid thought that KPMG were missing out on some incredible talent. He therefore established the Military Internship Programme to attract and develop Veterans and reservists, so they are prepared for commercial careers.

The Captain James Wadsworth Challenge 2018: Tour De Troops and The Soldiers Run Pass

The Exciting Tour De Troops endurance event is back for 2018, after huge success in 2017. This charity event is the ultimate cycle ride, starting at Lands End and finishing at John O’Groats during a challenging five days. That event is followed by a second one, the Soldiers Run Pass in July. Together they make up the Captain James Wadsworth Challenge 2018.

Both events are open to military staff and civilians alike and are ideal for those looking for a mental and physical challenge which also encourages teamwork and esprit-de-corps between military personnel and civilians.

Top UK Fundraiser join forces with the national charity of the Royal Navy

The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity is delighted to announce the arrival of one of Britain’s top fundraisers, Chief Petty Officer Andy Gibbs.

A fundraiser for almost ten years, Andy ‘Gibbo’ Gibbs, has raised over £525,000 for the Armed Forces community. He has now joined up with the RNRMC to use his fundraising experience to help raise money for sailors, marines, veterans and their families.

Originally brought up in Oxfordshire, CPO Gibbs joined the Royal Navy in 1987 and has been in the service for over thirty years.

The welfare team at the Association has put together a short (5 to 10 minute) secure online survey to understand more about the activities and needs of members of the RAF family. Whether you are currently serving, have served, or you are the family member of a serving person the charity wants to ensure that its activities are tailored to meet your needs.

19th February 2018 – Book you place on the Deloitte Military Insight Day – London

Attendees will have the chance to find out what it’s like to work in a professional services firm with a particular focus on work in our public sector cyber security team.

Throughout the day attendees will have the chance to hear from and meet with veterans who have made the transition from various parts of the military. There will be tips on how to make the transition from service life, plus an opportunity to register interest in an assessment centre for roles in their Cyber team.

Britain’s Got Talent Winner Richard Jones Leaves British Troops Spellbound

Army Lance Corporal and Magician Takes His Magic Tour to Kabul, Giving A Morale Boost to Those Serving in Afghanistan

Forces Live Events (CSE), experts in the organisation of bespoke live entertainment events for the Armed Forces, have just returned from a magical trip to Afghanistan with Lance Corporal Richard Jones – the first and only magician to ever win Britain’s Got Talent.

Supported by fellow magician, Daniel Boyles, Richard toured his magic show around various bases in Kabul.

New plans for military flexible working become law

Service personnel will be able to apply for enhanced flexible working opportunities after the Armed Forces (Flexible Working) Bill became law on the 8th February.

The measures, which achieved Royal Assent on Thursday, will allow some military personnel to serve part-time for defined periods.

Consultation within the Armed Forces has found that personnel want more choice over the way they serve when their personal circumstances change, such as having young children, needing to care for elderly relatives, or taking on further training and education.
