Service family accommodation

A guide for service families about applying for, maintaining, moving in and out of and living in UK service family accommodation (SFA).
The provision of good quality living accommodation for service personnel and their families is an important priority for the Ministry of Defence (MOD).
The MOD’s Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) manages around 50,000 properties in the UK including planning targeted improvement programmes and planning future requirements. On behalf of the DIO, CarillionAmey, manages a comprehensive maintenance service; the allocation of properties; SFA furniture; conducting move in and move out appointments; and the provision of improvements.

New Manor Camp Centre to provide quality facilities for families of Royal Marines

A grant of over £30,000 has been awarded for the Royal Marines Families and Welfare Centre in Taunton by the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC).

The grant, which has been distributed by the national charity of the Royal Navy, will enable the centre to complete the interior with comfortable furnishings and equipment.

Set to be officially opened later this year, the Norton Manor Camp Families Centre will provide a high quality facility for the Royal Marines service families within the Taunton area.

The Heropreneurs awards are open for entries

The Heropreneurs Awards is a new initiative created to celebrate the achievements of ex-Armed Forces personnel in business. It is run by Heropreneurs, the charity created in 2009, that helps ex-Armed Forces personnel and their dependants on the road to creating their own businesses. The Awards are run in association with The Telegraph and the Warwick Business School, and with support from the Ministry of Defence.

The Judges for the Heropreneurs Awards are all exceptional people who have been recruited from the world of business, politics, and the Armed Forces.

Military Families with Additional Needs Invited to FANDF Conference

SSAFA-run conference on 11th June to host free information, specialist support and access to policy makers

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity is encouraging all tri-Service families who have family members with additional needs to attend a biennial conference on 11th June at the MOD main building, London.

This year, the overarching theme of the FANDF conference will be ‘Myth Busting’ – aiming to share knowledge and experience between experts and fellow families.
