Soldiers to cycle 1,500 miles in first-ever charity ‘Tour de Troops’

Twenty bomb disposal experts from the British Army are preparing to cover 1,500 miles by bike to raise funds for Felix Fund – the charity for those affected by Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD).

Switching blast suits for Lycra, the cyclists will begin their ride from Edinburgh to Bielefeld in Germany on June 12th and average about 100 miles per day. In just 15 days, they will visit every security-cleared EOD regiment in the first-ever Tour de Troops.

Scotty’s brave Little Soldiers have a ‘Royal’ good time

Prince Harry and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcome hundreds of Scotty’s Little Soldiers members to Buckingham Palace.

Over 200 Scotty’s Little Soldiers members joined 850 bereaved Armed Forces children at Buckingham Palace yesterday in a special garden party event, hosted by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.

Three “inspirational” school leaders present at the Tower of London

Three school leaders from Cardiff, Abergavenny and Salford recently presented to some of the UK’s top philanthropists, military representatives and journalists to talk about an innovative new programme being run at their schools.

Jon Murphy, Headteacher at Lllanfoist Fawr Primary School in Abergavenny, Zina Clark, Head of School at St Peter’s Roman Catholic Primary School Cardiff, and Helen Watson, Head of Wharton Primary School near Salford, were asked to join individuals ranging from Colonels to Royal Correspondents at the Tower of London to discuss the Prince William Awards.
